NeSO is organizing an interaction programme to celebrate the “World Science Day 2017” on 9 November, 2017 Thursday @14.00-16.00 at Russian Culture Center, Kamalpokhari.
The Phase I of the Environment Olympiad was completed on February 26, 2016 with the selection of top ten presenters from among the top 20 contestants of master level students.
Including the members of legislative parliament, current and former head of different government bodies and prominent dignitaries, there were around 50 participants.
Mr. Bibek Bhujel, Mr. Ashok Chhatkuli and Mr. Pratik Baral, all from Kathmandu Model College, Bagbazar, were successful to size the first, second and third positions in the contest respectively.
In the opening remark, the president of NeSO, Er. Ganesh Shah stressed the need of promoting science and technology in Nepalese society.
The Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Jibraj Pokharel pointed out that we can expect sustainable development only when the nation is able to use science and technology for the society.
Its objective is to raise awareness of people of the worsening air pollution of Kathmandu and other cities and sense of responsibility of people in its mitigation.
