‘Meteorology and Ecology of Himalayan Region of Nepal’ a monthly scientific talk programDate: 19 November, 2015
In the monthly scientific talk program on August 29, 2015, Dr. Narayan Prasad Ghimire presented his paper on “Ecological study of surface water bodies in Sagarmatha National Park, Nepal” and explained that the water quality is deteriorating in the region because of anthropogenic activities of the tourists. In the same program, Dr. Dibas Shrestha of NAST spoke on “Precipitation Pattern over Nepal Himalaya Revealed by TRMM Satellite” and pointed out that the amount of rainfall is caused by a larger number of weaker rainfall events than by smaller number of stronger rainfall events in the region. In the opening remark, the president of NeSO, Er. Ganesh Shah stressed the need of promoting science and technology in Nepalese society.
