Selection of top 10 contestants of Environment Olympiad Season 2015/2016Date: 01 March, 2016
Nepal Science Olympiad (NeSO) and the Institute for Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS) has been jointly conducting an Environment Olympiad, season 2015/2016 with special focus on Air pollution. The Phase I of the Olympiad was completed on February 26, 2016 with the selection of top ten presenters from among the top 20 contestants of master level students. The top 20 were selected based on the write up submitted on the provided topics under air pollution, whereas the top 10 were selected based on the presentation of their write up in a seminar. Those successful to graduate the Phase I of the Olympiad are Mr. Ankit K Aryal from KU, Mr. Raju Chauhan from TU, Mr. Rishab Nakarmi from KU, Ms. Bigya Gyawali from TU, Ms. Manisha Pokharel from SchEMS, Ms. Pragati Bajracharya from University of Nottingham, Malaysia, Ms. Shrijana Sitikhu, Kwopa College, TU, Ms. Ranjita Thapa from TU, Mr. Abhinay Man Shrestha from KU and Mr. Swatantra Bhandari from Shi-gan International College. In the Phase II, +2 level students numbering around 1,000 will attend a seminar where the winners of the Phase I present the subject matters. From among the top 10 master level contestants, the First, Second and Third presenters will be selected based on the voting of the audience as well as on the marking of the evaluation committee. Similarly, the +2 level students on the audience will be asked 100 question on the subject matter and the first second and third will be selected based on their answer. The Phase II grand finale of the Environment Olympiad will be organized in the first week of June, 2016.
